Update: Senate Committee Vote on New START Treaty
Postponed
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has
postponed today’s vote on the New START
Treaty
until mid-September. In announcing the decision, Chairman John Kerry
(D-MA) said the delay would help build a broader consensus and provide
additional time for senators to review the treaty.
The postponement also provides UNA members extra time to call on
senators to support this important treaty.

approval of the alliance is virtually certain to be obtained in the
next several months. In anticipation of this, the UN Foundation is
initiating
recruitment of the new Executive Director. Read
